Dental Veneer

Veneers are becoming very popular among patients right now. They make stained or discolored teeth look brighter. They hide any imperfections, like small fractures or cracks in your teeth. They can make tiny teeth look bigger and straighten crooked and rotated teeth without braces.

Dental veneers are thin sheets of porcelain or a resin composite that are permanently bonded to the teeth, covering the teeth underneath. Porcelain veneers are most popular, as they have the translucent look of real teeth and tend to resist stains better than resin.

A Simple Procedure With Immediate Results

To have veneers applied, you'll typically go through a process:

  1. You'll consult with your dentist. Veneers are custom-designed to look as natural as possible, so your dentist may take impressions and/or X-rays in order to determine the right size and color of your veneers.
  2. Your dentist will prepare your teeth for veneers by removing a very small amount of enamel from your teeth, making an impression of the teeth, and sending that to a dental lab where they will create your permanent veneers. You will be given some temporary veneers to wear while the dental lab is making your permanent ones.
  3. Once the lab sends back the veneers, your dentist will bond and cement them to your teeth. Your smile will be beautiful immediately.
